The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's crypto Task Force is intensifying efforts to shape clear regulatory frameworks for digital assets, hosting a series of roundtable discussions nationwide. Commissioner Hester Peirce is leading the initiative, which recently stopped in Chicago after earlier visits to Dallas, Boston, and Berkeley.

The outreach targets small, emerging crypto projects—particularly those with fewer than 10 employees and operating for less than two years. 'We want to hear from voices historically underrepresented in policymaking,' states the SEC's website, emphasizing the need for comprehensive industry input given regulations' far-reaching consequences.

This grassroots engagement strategy contrasts with traditional top-down rulemaking. By meeting builders where they operate, the SEC aims to bridge the gap between innovation and investor protection—a balancing act that will define America's competitive position in the global crypto economy.
